DMFA Marketer of the Year for 2008-2009

Giselle Holloway

Giselle Holloway has been recognized by many of her peers as a leader in the fundraising field, always drawing attention for the quality of her insights and sincerity of her interest.

Currently the Director of Direct Response for the International Rescue Committee, the IRC has grown its membership, and income, by more than 25% during Giselle's tenure — a time when many in the sector are struggling. Giselle and her team, through strategic planning and execution, were able to retain more than 35% of all the new donors who came to the IRC in 2004, moved by the destruction of the Indian Ocean tsunami. Also during Giselle's tenure, the online program for the IRC has more than quadrupled in size.

Giselle serves on the Board of the New York-chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and taught a section of the Summer Intensive Certificate in Fundraising at NYU. With all of these career accomplishments and professional affiliations, she manages to find a good work/life balance with her family, husband Chris and son Timmy, as well as heavily involvement in local theater and arts groups.

Giselle Holloway exemplifies the best of what the DMFA has to offer: a community of committed professionals dedicated to sharing what they know for the improvement of our field and ourselves. Thank you, Giselle!
