Undeliverable? NOT!

Don't believe the Post Office when they tell you that your donor's address is undeliverable and that no forwarding information is available. Make sure they confirm the information before you give up on mailing that valuable donor record. To do this, put a "1" in your undeliverable field in your donor database when you get notice from the P.O. If you get another notice, the data entry operator will change the "1" to a "2". Only bypass the "2"s. After all if you spend $5, $10, $20 to acquire a new donor, isn't it worth another mailing or two to be sure the P.O. is telling you the truth? You'll be amazed to see how much money comes in from "undeliverable" addresses! |
