Are You Violating Your Online Privacy Policy?

As government regulates the Internet more and more, having an online privacy policy on your Web site is imperative. But in addition, be sure to honor it.
On most non-profit sites, online privacy policies state that they will not share information collected from the Web site. Sounds good so far...but many non-profits are in conflict with their own online privacy policy.
WHY? Well it happens when adding an online donor to your donor database. Non-profits typically share and trade their donor lists, but if you don’t give an online donor a special “do not exchange code” – you’re violating your online privacy policy.
So, double-check your online privacy policy, you may need to change it. Also, check with your Database Manager to find out how they are coding online donors.
