Storytelling is key for successful direct response fundraising – regardless of channel.  Stacie Mruk and Stephen Godbout have deep experience crafting compelling stories even when stories are hard to come by.  This interactive presentation will include samples and a lively discussion.  Bring your challenges!  Lunch is provided thanks to Production Solutions/PS Digital. Stacie Mruk is The Nature Conservancy’s Director of Membership Communications, where she oversees messaging and creative for all membership channels and programs. Stacie has more than 20 years of experience in political and nonprofit fundraising that spans organizations of all sizes.  She was previously Vice President at Impact Communications, where she focused exclusively on fundraising messaging and copywriting for nonprofit clients.  Stacie is a Certified Fundraising Executive and lives in Washington, DC with her husband and giant, drooly hound dog. 

Stephen Godbout – Creative Director/Copywriter at CopybyGod has been working in the field of direct response since 2000. He has proven abilities to delve into the history of an organization, comb web-sites, review back mail and email communications, as well as speeches, videos, reports or other relevant communications to grasp the voice of any organization.  His storytelling skills have been recognized by the Direct Marketing Association and the Direct Marketing Association of Washington with over 50 international and national awards.
